Web Watch: Beauty from chaos, and books

1. Home Stories A to Z

Attempting to create ‘beauty out of chaos’ is this feelgood site dedicated to DIY home stories. The project gallery here will inspire — even if it’s only to attempt an asparagus vase — it looks better than it sounds, believe me. Beth, the host, pulls together projects from other sites in her inspiration file — I completely intend to try the crown moulding as shoe rack lark.

2. Centsational Girl

You gotta love Kate — self confessed bargain hunter, design lover, and incurable DIY-er, she’s out to make her world ‘fabulous’. The amount of sponsors on her site gives the impression it’s working out for her. She has very personalised decorating and design articles like “Colour Injection: Tips for the Timid’ and interviews with people I’ve never heard of, but makes nice reading.

3. If’n Books

Under the fun stuff tab on this site is a party in a pouch. Reason enough to log on. (It’s $3.99 and It’s probably not what you think). If you want to spend more dollars, check out the Wood Buttonhole Stitch Photo Album. It’s looks so pretty with a maple veneer cover with hand screenprinted images.
