On the red carpet: Jennifer Hudson, Britt Robertson, Drew Barrymore, Renée Elise Goldsberry

Jennifer Hudson chose a cheerful Gucci shirt-dress to promote her new single Remember Me New York.

The singer couldn’t keep wrinkles from its silk skirt but I like the ruffles and she’s made the whole piece prettier by removing the brand’s ridiculous rosette-bow from the collar.

Britt Robertson attended the Netflix premiere of Girlboss in LA wearing a Fendi pinafore and Giuseppe Zanotti heels. The textural contrasts — leather floral embellishments on the wool bodice, velvet straps on the sandals — are subtle but very chic.

Drew Barrymore sparkled in Needle&Thread at The Turtle Conservancy’s Turtle Ball in New York. I like the cold-shoulder sleeves but a vertically-printed dress with no waist looks too curtain-like to be flattering, especially when it falls to the ankle.

Renée Elise Goldsberry shone in Rosie Assoulin at the New York premiere of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. The Hamilton star picked up the tropical print with orange Jimmy Choo sandals.
