Samsung probe Galaxy S3 ‘explosion’ in car

Samsung has confirmed it is investigating what led one of its latest and most popular smartphones to burst into flames while its owner was driving in Dublin.

The owner went online to reveal that he was driving along with the Galaxy S3 model in a car mount “when suddenly a white flame, sparks, and a bang came out of the phone”.

Posting on boards.ie with the username dillo2k10, the person wrote: “I pulled in to look at my phone, the phone burned from the inside out. Burned through the plastic and melted my case to my phone.
