Eurosceptic MEPs to lobby for a no vote

Eurosceptic MEPs are set to enter the debate on Ireland’s referendum over the EU fiscal compact treaty in the coming days and will be sending vote no leaflets to homes nationwide.

Members of the Europe of Freedom and Democracy Group (EFD) will travel here next month and claim the treaty will lead to permanent austerity and that a yes vote will even hit Ireland’s corporation tax.

The European parliament group campaigned for a no vote during Lisbon, the last EU treaty held in Ireland.
