Q: Is there a fee to use this Web site?
A:  No. Registration is free of charge for all users from all locations.

Q: When is the newspaper available online?
A:  The first edition of the newspaper is available online around 1 a.m. GMT, 11am AEST and 8pm EST.

Q: How often is news updated on IrishExaminer.com?
A:  We update the site every evening with the exception of Saturday because we do not publish on a Sunday. We update the breaking news section as news warrants, as often as necessary to bring you the most up-to-date coverage. The news is monitored from 6am to 1am GMT from Monday through to Friday, 8.30am to 9pm Saturday and 8,30am to 1am on Sunday.

Q: Why am I seeing old pages of IrishExaminer.com on my screen?
A:  You are probably viewing a previous day's page which was "cached" on your hard disk. If you refresh your page by pressing F5 on your keyboard or by pressing the refresh button on your browser, the current news should appear. Since our Web site is constantly updated, it requires you to set your Web browser so that it will not "cache" articles. empty your browser's Temporary Internet Files folder (in IE it is under View /Options/ Advanced/ Settings). This will force your browser to delete old copies of the files.

Q:  Where can I find Irish Examiner's archives?
A:  A search box can be found on the front page. The archives start from December 13th 1997 and contain most articles since that date. Irish Examiner only publishes six days a week, so some dates do not contain archives.

Q:  How do I order past articles from Irish Examiner?
A:  You will be able to order articles from Irish Examiner if you have the exact date of the article. To do this, please contact counter@examiner.ie or call 021 4802 209/021 4802 208 or mail Counter Sales at the address in the footer of this website.

If you do not have the date the following sources may enable you to establish the exact date: Cork County Library stores all microfilm for Irish Examiner from 1841 to the present.

Once the date is ascertained you can order a specific article or page of Irish Examiner on microfilm from the counter for €5 per page. 
A hard copy of Irish Examiner is available at Irish Examiner for approximately. 3 months. One must have the date of the particular issue to order a hard copy of Irish Examiner.

Q:  Where do I find a photo I saw in the newspaper?
A:  Photographs are not included in the text-only archives. Photos may be ordered if you have the exact date that it appeared in the newspaper. 

The availability of photographs is subject to the photographer and the subsequent agreement with Irish Examiner. The rates are as follows:

10 x 7 = €20 (unframed & free delivery)
10 x 7 = €30 (framed & free delivery)
15 x 10 = €30 (unframed & free delivery)
15 x 10 = €40 (unframed & free delivery).

To order a front page of a specific date of Irish Examiner framed €35 for front page framed. For information about ordering photo reproductions from Irish Examiner, e-mail counter@examiner.ie.

Q:  What's available in your Archive, and what's not?
A:  Our Archives include the text of Irish Examiner newspaper back to 1997. Our Archive does not include charts, graphs, photos, advertisements and classifieds. To find articles not available in our Archives, other sources are available.
