Just add colour: four-bed walk-in needs lick of paint

Saturday, November 21, 2009

GREAT value for money at the price at number 11, Curra Woods, says its selling agent – so the new owners can afford a few buckets of paint.

Despite being four years old, this detached house, which is described as being in walk-in condition, is still in need of a lick of paint – surely?

Deciding on a paint colour is often the last job anyone does with a new home: that, and, perhaps, additional landscaping. Often, they are the ‘discretionary’ spends put on the long finger once the building or buying budget is blown.

Given that this is a four-bedroomed, detached home with 1,900 sq ft of space, the asking price of €395,000, via agents, Sherry FitzGerald, is fair, they say of this Riverstick offering.

Location is off the main Cork to Kinsale road, in this increasingly well-serviced village: new, mixed-use development has added hugely to the commercial and retail mix.

On a fairly large, and sloping site, number 11, Curra Woods has been finished out to a high standard, say Sherry Fitzgerald, with kitchen fitted and with all appliances, all of the bedrooms have built-in wardrobes, and two of the four first-floor bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.

There’s a tiled hall, front lounge with bay window and fireplace, the family room also has a similar bay, there’s a kitchen/dining room with tiled floor and appliances in place, along with a utility and guest WC.

The house has double glazing, oil heating, and alarm, and a back garden in lawn. Now, time for the paint brushes and shovels for planting, for those who want to put down roots in Riverstick.
