Jobseekers to take trip to Career Zoo

JOBSEEKERS can apply to fill any one of 2,000 professional vacancies with 50 leading companies exhibiting at the second annual admission-free Career Zoo at Dublin’s Mansion House on Saturday and Sunday, September 10 and 11.

Employers such as Amazon, Intel, Deloitte, Pramerica and Ericsson will be present at the event.

Some 7,000 people attended last year’s launch event, a figure which the organisers expect will rise to 10,000 this year, as the poor economic climate shows no sign of stopping.

Launching this year’s Career Zoo, Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Minister Richard Bruton said: “Career Zoo is an important event which will bring together the companies with vacancies with those skilled professionals who can fill those roles.

“Events like this can help create a new future, not only for the workers and the companies involved, but also for our economy. I am determined that Government will do everything it can to ensure that new future can become a reality for workers and companies right across the country.”

Exhibitors at Career Zoo will include representatives from Irish and international companies, professional bodies, educators, recruiters and enterprise organisations.

As well as looking to match jobseekers with relevant vacancies, this year’s event will also have a strong focus on new business start-ups, with experts lending advice to those thinking of setting up their own business.

Career Zoo is supported by the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland, the National Recruitment Federation, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, and Dublin City Council.

The event is sponsored by the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology, Hays Recruitment, and Valeo Vision Systems, which has a research, development and innovation centre in Galway. Home
