Boots opens its 62nd Irish store

Saturday, July 09, 2011

Roscommon: The 62nd Boots store in Ireland was opened on Main Street, Roscommon, yesterday and will provide 14 jobs for the area.

The store was opened by Roscommon senior football captain Peter Domican and Roscommon Rose Roisin Guihen.

The store is the fifth new outlet opened by Boots in the country this year and is part of the company’s continued expansion in Ireland.

It follows on from the recent opening of Boots’s 60th store at the Blackpool Retail Park in Cork city, as well as new branches in Naas, Co Kildare; Castle-bar, Co Mayo; and Thurles, Co Tipperary, creating more than 80 jobs. Boots employs more than 1,850 people nationwide.

Managing director of Boots Ireland Debbie Smith said: "We have plans to open further new stores in the country over the next year."
