The Government’s summary of the measures announced in the Budget is available here.

It seems the news for motorists is not good in the Budget as the Government is expected to hike the price of petrol and diesel by 4 and 5 cent a litre respectively from midnight as the Carbon Tax kicks in.
It has been reported that drivers will be able to get €1500 from the Government if you have a car older than ten years and trade it in for a new greener model.
The Carbon Tax won't be introduced for home heating oil and briquettes until next May.
