Passport offices hit by protest action

Services at passport offices will be hit by industrial action later today.

Public service workers are refusing to operate public counters at offices in Dublin and Cork which will be closed to the public from 1pm this afternoon.

People wishing to collect passports are being advised to do so before then.

The action is part of a campaign against public sector cuts announced in the December Budget.
