A Government backbench TD is demanding that all semi-State wages are cut with immediate effect.
The Finance Minister Brian Lenihan confirmed last night that pay for senior semi-State managers will be reviewed.
However, Fianna Fáil's Mattie McGrath has described some of the pay awards in the sector as bordering on "criminality".
The Tipperary South TD said: "In the interests of fairness all semi-State workers should have their pay cut."
