Iconic Louvre painting vandalised

An iconic painting by Delacroix has been vandalised at the Louvre in Paris.

A 28 year old woman was apprehended by an attendant last night after writing across the painting "Liberty Leading the People" with black marker.

Officials at the Louvre expect it will be possible to restore it.

The painting by Delacroix commemorates France's July Revolution of 1830.
