Much of Ireland will be dull and wet through this morning with some prolonged outbreaks of rain. A few heavy pulses of rain are likely over central and then eastern areas of Ireland. However, western Connacht and western parts of Munster are likely to become drier through this afternoon. Winds will become gentle, variable in direction.

Ulster and Leinster will have further outbreaks of rain for a time tonight albeit easing later on. Turning mostly dry further west with some clear spells. Mainly gentle winds.

After a cloudy start near to some Irish Sea coasts, much of Ireland will have sunny intervals through the morning. The afternoon will also have some bright or sunny intervals but scattered showers will develop too, most widely over central and western areas. Showers easing in the evening. A mainly gentle westerly wind.

Friday A mainly cloudy, wet and blustery morning with outbreaks of rain spreading eastwards across Ireland. Gradually becoming drier and brighter through the afternoon with sunny intervals. A brisk south-westerly wind.

Any early sunshine will give way to cloudier skies from the south-west together with rain. The rain is expected to become widespread and accompanied by a brisk southerly wind.
