A bright start to the day over southern and eastern areas. However, cloudier skies already over north-western parts of Ireland will extend across the rest of Ireland through the day. Outbreaks of rain will move into much of Ulster and Connacht by the afternoon. Only some spots of rain reaching Munster and Leinster. A moderate west to south-westerly wind.

Friday A predominantly cloudy day across Ireland with outbreaks of rain and drizzle in places, these most widespread over northern and western areas. Just the odd bright spell, most likely in the south-east. A gentle south-westerly wind.
