Mist and fog this morning, dense in places, will be slow to clear. Mainly dry this afternoon with sunny spells and patchy cloud. A few light showers may move into western coasts of Munster and Leinster too. Light to moderate southerly winds.

Fine this evening, as patchy cloud from the day dissipates to leave late sunshine. Leinster and eastern Ulster will be dry with clear periods and a few mist or fog patches. Turning cloudy in the west, with drizzle later. Light to moderate south-easterly winds.

Much of Leinster and Ulster will see the best of the sunshine, hazy at times, and some patchy cloud. Much of Connacht and Munster will be quite cloudy, with rain slowly edging in from the west. This could turn persistent later. Moderate to fresh south-easterly winds.

Wednesday

After a dry morning for eastern areas, a band of persistent and heavy frontal rain will push across the region from the west. This will bring some very heavy rain at times. Ulster will remain driest for longest. Moderate south-easterly winds.

Thursday

Once early rain clears from Ulster, it will be dry for a time with some sunshine. However, cloud will increase once again from the west later, with rain spreading across the country later in the afternoon. Moderate to fresh southerly winds.

It will be a breezy day with spells of sunshine, and a few showers also spreading in from the west. These will ease during the evening. Moderate south-westerly winds.
