Ireland secured their first win in the 2012 Women's Six Nations at Ashbourne tonight.

The hosts led from the fifth minute, following a Marie Louise Reilly try, with further tries from Niamh Kavanagh and Joy Neville all converted by Niamh Briggs to ensure a 21-0 lead after 30 minutes.

Italy bounced back with a Cristina Molic try to make it 21-7 at half-time. However, four more Irish tries saw Philip Doyle's side run out 30-point winners.
