Dundalk newboy Alex Williams scored on his debut as the Lilywhites made it four wins on the spin to dent Derry's title hopes.

The suspension- and injury-hit Candystripes fell behind on 37 minutes when Darren Mansaram’s cross was helped on by Michael Daly and Williams, just signed from Ayr United, shot past Ger Doherty.

Doherty prevented Dundalk getting a second late on with a terrific stop to deprive Daly.
