Woman sues Copper Face Jacks after dance floor tumble

A woman is suing one of the country's most famous nightclubs after injuring herself 'Dirty Dancing'.

Copper Face Jacks in Dublin is denying it is their fault she hurt herself, after she took a tumble on the dance floor.

Ciara O'Connell, with an address at Glenview Park in Tallaght, is understood to have been re-enacting a famous scene from 'Dirty Dancing' when the alleged incident happened.

It is also claimed she fell and broke her arm while dancing backwards to a song by Shakira with a colleague in Coppers in August 2006.

She has told the High Court she had to have two operations following the accident and has been left with permanent scarring.

Defence lawyers for the Harcourt Street nightclub said they were "dancing recklessly" and dangerously and are disputing that the floor was slippy from spilled drinks.
