Gardaí investigating a traffic collision involving a car and a motorcycle, close to Athy, Co Kildare have confirmed two people have lost their lives and another was seriously injured following this afternoon’s crash.
The dead are a motorcyclist in his late 20s and a female passenger in the car in her 80s. The injured man, the driver of the car, is also in his 80s.
All three have been removed from the scene to Naas General Hospital.
The road remains closed to facilitate an examination at the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
