The Taoiseach has ruled out taking part in a Fiscal Treaty head-to-head debate with Gerry Adams on TV3.

The station had challenged the two to the debate on May 29, but Enda Kenny declared this afternoon: "I do not do the Vincent Browne programme."

He also ruled out delaying the referendum to ratify the treaty, despite Germany delaying its parliamentary ratification until next month.

Enda Kenny said there was a legal obligation to hold the vote on May 31.

"We've published the referendum bill, and will make our decision on May 31," he said.
