Fine Gael Senator Eugene Regan, who began raising the controversy that ultimately led with Willie O'Dea resignation from Cabinet this week, said today that he takes "no pleasure" from the matter.

He survived a confidence motion in the Dáil on Wednesday but was forced to resign the next day after the Green Party said it could no longer support him.
