New family laws expected from Minister to cover gay adoption

New family laws which will legislate for surrogacy as well as gay adoption are expected to be published soon.

It is understood the Justice Minister will publish the heads of the new Children and Family Relationships Bill next month.

The bill is designed to mordernise our family laws to reflect how we live today.

Other reforms will be in the areas of access for unmarried parents and civil partners, and children will be allowed to refuse consent for custody or access.
