Man, early 50s, dies following Galway collision

Gardaí at Tuam are investigating a fatal single vehicle road collision which occurred at Kildaree, Williamstown Co Galway at 9.15am this morning.

The car, which was occupied by three people, collided with a wall. The driver, a male in his early 50s, was seriously injured and was pronounced dead at Mayo General Hospital this afternoon.

The other occupants, two females, were not seriously injured.

The area was sealed off for a forensic collision investigation and the road has since re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact Tuam Garda Station on 093-70840.
