Man dies following Tipperary crash

A 22-year-old man who was involved in a car crash in Co Tipperary on Friday has died in hospital.

The two-car collision on the N75 at Rathmanna, Thurles. took place at around 10.40pm on Friday night.

A man was seriously injured when the car he was driving collided with a second car.

He was taken by ambulance to South Tipperary General Hospital with serious injuries and later transferred to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead late last night.

The driver of the second car (also aged 22) was taken to hospital with minor injures and later discharged.

Forensic collisions investigators carried out a full technical examination at the scene and Gardai in Thurles are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
