Limerick nurses set for work stoppage
Nurses at the Emergency Department at the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Limerick are to hold a four-hour work stoppage next Wednesday in protest at staffing levels and budget cuts.
The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling on HIQA, An Bord Altranais and the Medical Council to inspect all hospitals, to see the impact of continuous overcrowding.
The stoppage will take place from 1pm until 5pm next Wednesday.
The union said that it will maintain a nursing presence in the Department over the four-hour period to ensure unforeseen developments are be responded to immediately.
