Authorities in the Austrian capital Vienna said today they arrested a man suspected of scamming hundreds of people by offering designer clothing for sale over the internet and pocketing their money without delivering the merchandise.
The suspect, identified only as a 24-year-old man from the town of Mistelbach in the province of Lower Austria, is suspected of scamming victims of up to €59,300, police said.
Officials said the scam lasted about eight months before customers who never received their orders contacted police.
