Justice Minister Alan Shatter has established a working group to carry out a review of penal policy.

Justice Minister Alan Shatter has established a working group to carry out a review of penal policy.

The review was recommended by the Thornton Hall Project Review Group last year.

Minister Shatter said that the group will look at a number of issues such as prevention, sentencing policies, alternatives to custody, accommodation, rehabilitation and the issue of female prisoners.
