Gardaí have notified the family of missing Bray man Phillip O'Toole, following the discovery of remains in a wood in Wicklow.

The 33 year-old has not been seen since earlier this month, and last week his father made an appeal for information on his disappearance.

It is understood that Gardaí received a tip-off following the appeal, and a body was found at Trooperstown Wood in Rathdrum this morning.

The remains have yet to be formally identified.
