Gardaí: Clare drowning 'an accident'

Gardaí are treating the death of a man who drowned in Co Clare last night as a "tragic accident".

The 51-year-old man died after he got into difficulty while swimming about 5km from Spanish Point.

The man was airlifted to University College Hospital in Galway by the Coast Guard helicopter, but was later pronounced dead.
