LL Cool J hits out at Jay-Z

Rapper LL Cool J has slammed Def Jam President Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter for putting his artists' careers at risk by coming out of retirement.

The 'Control myself' hitmaker last month accused Carter of failing to promote his latest album Todd Smith properly.

Now he claims he won't re-sign with Def Jam when his contract expires after one more LP, because it'll mean competing with his label boss.

LL Cool J tells MTV: "How am I gonna re-sign with competition? I'm not an idiot.

"I can't depend on that man to promote my record while he's somewhere writing rhymes. I'm LL Cool J. I ain't doing that, B."
