Jesus VR is coming...

Virtual Reality is here to change the way you watch movies forever, by giving you the chance to feel like you're really there. And now, Jesus VR is in the works.

Jesus VR - The Story of Christ is set to be a full 90 minute tale and will deal with important events throughout the life of the man from Nazereth. It was shot in 4K and 360 degree video so you'll be able to peer around as these scenes unfold, from that first Christmas to the crucifixion and the startling resurrection.

The film is executive produced by one of the men behind The Passion of the Christ, Enzo Sisti, and also shot at some of the same locations as Mel Gibson's 2004 hit. It's set to be one the most complex VR film produced to date, taking viewers seamlessly through these incredible and important stories.

Virtual reality for films is still in its infancy and it remains to be seen how a feature will work under these conditions. We've also seen poor image quality as an issue with early 360 degree video and iffy performance on older smartphones.

Still this is certainly an interesting experiment, and it might just be a glimpse at the future of the entertainment world. Jesus VR is aiming to work across all available platforms, including Google Cardboard, PS VR, Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Gear VR, when it launches around the world in December 2016.

More as we get it.
