Roadside bomb attack on British convoy
05/10/2008 - 11:04:57

A roadside bomb attack on a British convoy in Basra today injured an Iraqi civilian, authorities said.

A spokesman for the British military in Iraq, Major Bill Young, said the attack occurred around 8.30am local time on a convoy carrying Western contractors.

The contractors were going to a children's hospital to inspect work on the building.

Major Young said none of those in the convoy were injured.

However, an Iraqi police official in Basra said one Iraqi civilian was wounded.
