Clinton lends her campaign more cash

Hillary Clinton has loaned her presidential campaign US$6.4m (€4m) over the past month, an aide said today.Hillary Clinton has loaned her presidential campaign US$6.4m (€4m) over the past month, an aide said today.

The money more than doubles Mrs Clinton’s personal investment in her bid for the Democratic nomination. She gave her campaign US$5m (€3.2m) earlier this year.

Rival Barack Obama has routinely outspent her in primary after primary.

Mrs Clinton’s campaign reported raising US$10m (€6.3m) online after her victory in Pennsylvania on April 22.

But Mr Obama has shown little difficulty tapping his vast network of donors. He spent more than US$7m (€4.4m) on advertising ahead of yesterday’s primaries in North Carolina and Indiana to her nearly US$4m (€5m).
