The sides had to settle for an unsatisfactory draw at the UCD Bowl in a disappointing clash of two sides who look likely to struggle this season.
College had perhaps the better of the chances in either half.
Pat McWalter brought a good save out of Richard Brush in the Rovers goal on 15 minutes.
Ronan Finn then wasted the best opening of the second half when blazing over the Rovers bar.
