Arsenal hand a debut to £12m midfielder Samir Nasri for the opening Premier League game of the new season against promoted West Brom at Emirates Stadium.
With Cesc Fabregas out injured, the Frenchman looks set to partner 20-year-old Brazilian Denilson in the centre.
Dane Nicklas Bendtner comes into the attack alongside Emmanuel Adebayor, with Robin van Persie rested to the bench following his midweek exploits in the Champions League qualifier against FC Twente.
Teenagers Aaron Ramsey and Jack Wilshere are among the Arsenal substitutes.
West Brom – who won the Coca-Cola Championship last season – see Abdoulaye Meite and keeper Scott Carson make their debuts.
