Dowd goals takes win for Longford
06/04/2008 - 21:03:09

Limerick 2-6 Longford 3-5

Goals win games and Paddy Dowd was Longford's savour as his late strike ensured the visitors stole the win at Kilmallock today.

For large periods it had looked like Longford would claim a much-needed win.

When Sean Buckley netted in the 69th-minute however, it seemed as though Limerick would record a victory.

However, Dowd's last gasp effort, coupled with good play from Declan Farrell and Francis McGee, ensured Luke Dempsey's side grabbed two valuable league points.
