Cork looking to hit form against Rovers 09/05/2008 - 10:06:38
Cork City will be hoping to hit a bit of form when they take on Paul Cook’s Sligo Rovers at Turner’s Cross tonight, kick-off 7.45pm.
John O’Flynn marked his return to the side with a brace in the second half against St Pat’s last Sunday and will be in contention for a place in the side.
Dave Mulcahy is also fit to feature as he has returned to training this week following a groin injury.
Danny Murphy’s sending off against Pat’s means he will miss the tie, but Joe Gamble returns from suspension.
Gareth Farrelly misses out through illness.
City boss Alan Mathews said: “It is disappointing that we have slipped up in our last two league games, especially given the tenacity and persistence that we showed in getting ourselves back on level terms with the league leaders last Sunday.”
Sligo face the long trip to Cork with major injury worries.
Steve Feeney (hamstring) and Sean Doherty (knee) are still out with long-term injuries and have been joined by Romauld Boco (thigh), Anto Murphy (dead leg) and Danny Ventre (hamstring) who all picked up their injuries in the defeat to Galway in the League Cup.
They will all face late fitness tests along with Gavin Peers (hamstring) who was injured in the victory over Shamrock Rovers.
