Soldier held on suspicion of handling illegal guns
3/28/2008 - 1:45:30 PMA soldier has been arrested and questioned by the Gardaí on suspicion of handling illegal firearms.
The soldier from Dublin was arrested on Tuesday.
He has since been taken into military custody for being absent without leave for nearly two months.
Reports this morning say a number of soldiers have been approached by gangs and offered cash in return for help with firearms in recent years.
