Libertas prepare for Sarkozy visit tomorrow
20/07/2008 - 12:36:12

Last-minute preparations will be made today as Lisbon Treaty campaigners gear up for the visit of Nicolas Sarkozy.

The French president due in Dublin tomorrow to meet with the Taoiseach Brian Cowen, and also with people who supported the No vote.

Mr Sarkozy has said that he wants to listen to the Irish people and understand why we rejected the Treaty.

However, there were reports earlier this week which claimed he had called for a second referendum in Ireland.

Caroline Simons, from Libertas, said she is hoping the Taoiseach will stand firm and outline the Irish position and that that he will reiterate that ‘No means no’.
