Auditor did not request invoices for O'Callaghan payments
11/06/2008 - 15:59:01

An auditor for building developer Owen O'Callaghan has told the Mahon Tribunal that she recorded certain accounts without requesting invoices as proof.

One such payment was for IR£15,000 which Owen O'Callaghan paid to former Fianna Fáil Councillor Sean Gilbride, who took a career break from teaching to canvass for the development of Quarryvale in West Dublin.

Auditor Clare Cowhig confirmed that one such payment made in 1991, which she did not seek an invoice for, was for IR€10,000 paid to Fianna Fáil Councillor Colm McGrath.
