Four fire service units battle blaze at Kildare meat factory

Fire fighters in Kildare were this afternoon battling a major blaze at a meat factory on the edge of the Curragh.

It's understood the fire broke out at the Chillen factory on the old Dublin road at around 4 o' clock this afternoon.

Four units of the fire service were called to the scene.

The factory has been evacuated and GardaĆ­ said no one was injured.

Black smoke resulted in reduced visibility for motorists.
