The Central Criminal Court jury in the trial of a Waterford man accused of murdering his wife have been sent to a hotel for the night.
The seven men and five women have been deliberating for three and a quarter hours.
Bus driver Mr John O’Brien (aged 41) with an address in Ballinakill Downs, Co Waterford denies murdering 35-year-old Meg Walsh on a date between October 1-15, 2006, somewhere within the State.
The mother-of-one’s body was recovered from the River Suir on October 15, 2006. She had died from blunt force trauma to the head. She also had injuries to her shoulder, arms and hands.
Mr Justice Barry White told the jury they would resume their deliberations tomorrow at 10.30am and should try to refrain from discussing the case overnight.
