Delegates at the INO annual conference in Co Cavan voted unanimously to support the industrial action being taken by SIPTU and the Psychiatric Nurses Association.

Members of the two unions have been refusing to work overtime as part of a campaign for decent compensation when psychiatric nurses are attacked at work.

The action has led to bed and ward closures at several facilities throughout the country.
