PSNI officer injured as car fails to stop at checkpoint

A PSNI officer has been injured in an incident at a checkpoint near Dunmurray in Co Antrim this morning.A PSNI officer has been injured in an incident at a checkpoint near Dunmurray in Co Antrim this morning.

The incident happened at around 10am, when the driver of a car failed to stop at the checkpoint on the Upper Lisburn Road.

The police say the man, who was arrested shortly afterwards, had earlier crashed into several parked cars.

The Police Ombudsman has been informed of the incident and a full PSNI investigation is underway.
