New Dublin primary school scrapped
08/05/2008 - 07:50:23

Plans to open a new primary school in Dublin's Phoenix Park have been scrapped due to low enrolment numbers.

Only 13 pupils put their names forward for Scoil Oisin, which was intended to serve the community in and around a new development at the old Phoenix Park racecourse site.

The facility was one of three new schools coming under the patronage of Co Dublin Vocational Education Committee.

The Department of Education says pupils who had enrolled in Scoil Oisin will be accommodated in nearby schools.
