Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is back in the witness box at the Mahon Tribunal today facing questioning about the purchase of his north Dublin home.Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is back in the witness box at the Mahon Tribunal today facing questioning about the purchase of his north Dublin home.

The tribunal has already heard that Manchester businessman Micheal Wall bought the house at Beresford Avenue in 1995 and sold it Mr Ahern in 1997.

Mr Wall, a close friend of Mr Ahern's, has told the tribunal he wanted to use the house as a base while setting up a coach business in Dublin.

Mr Wall and Mr Ahern made an arrangement that the latter would rent the house with an option to buy it at a later date.

The Manchester businessman was to stay in the house when he visited Dublin, which Mr Ahern told the tribunal was intended to be at least every second week.
