Mr Ahern is expected to be questioned at the Mahon Tribunal about the purchase of his north Dublin home in 1997 from Manchester businessman Micheal Wall.

The ex-Fianna Fáil leader had been renting the property from Mr Wall, who bought it two years previously.

It will be the ex-premier’s 12th appearance at the inquiry since September, which is probing his finances in the 1990s.

He appeared for three days in a row between June 4 and June 6.
