Fine Gael launches Lisbon Treaty ad campaign
16/05/2008 - 08:24:17

Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny will launch the latest phase of the party’s campaign for a Yes vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum today.

A series of billboards are to be unveiled nationwide as well as leaflets, bus shelter, Luas and Dart ads to persuade people to back the document come June 12.

Mr Kenny will be joined by MEP Gay Mitchell, the party’s director of elections for the Treaty, for the launch at Leinster House.

Yesterday former European Parliament president Pat Cox said it was in Ireland’s interests to back the treaty.

He was speaking at the launch of the Progressive Democrats’ 50,000 euro campaign for a Yes vote.

Fianna Fáil and Labour launched their campaigns earlier in the week.
