PDs to launch Lisbon Treaty campaign

New Progressive Democrats leader Ciaran Cannon is due to launch his partyNew Progressive Democrats leader Ciaran Cannon is due to launch his party's campaign for a 'yes' vote in the Lisbon Treaty referendum today.

The Galway-based senator will be urging party supporters to vote in favour of the treaty next month.

The PDs' campaign is expected to focus on the economic benefits of Ireland's EU membership.

Health Minister Mary Harney and former European Parliament president Pat Cox will also be at today's launch.
