Lenihan accused of trying to bury Morris Report
07/05/2008 - 13:04:40

Fine Gael is accusing Justice Minister Brian Lenihan of trying to bury the findings of the Morris Tribunal into alleged garda corruption in Donegal.

The Department of Justice confirmed this morning that the tribunal's report would be published at 1pm this afternoon.

Fine Gael's Charlie Flanagan says the timing is suspicious as the report will be overshadowed by the election of Brian Cowen as Taoiseach in the Dáil.

He also said he hoped the Dáil would be able to debate the report at the earliest possible opportunity.
